Job description:

• Reviews the existing backup architecture, policies, and operational considerations and current usage of EMC technology

• Provides recommendations to improve SLAs and increase utilization of the EMC infrastructure investment

• Assists with incident and problem management activities

• Participates in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable

• Monitors Backup activity for the in-scope environment.

• Performs routine Backup policy changes.

• Participates in the planning, approval, and implementation of approved Change Management requests.

• Generates regular operational reports

• Participates in Backup capacity measurement and planning.

• Assists with detailed technical planning for future initiatives.

• Recommends changes to procedures which result in operational optimization and improved SLAs.

• Assists with operational documentation.

• Prepares a documented Backup management, policy and/or architecture process improvement report that outlines operational, technical or support areas that could be significantly improved

• Ensures all backups are properly run and completed on time. Restores will be processed within mutually agreed to timeframes

• Conducts regular testing of the restore processes to ensure reliable operation.

• Documents operational best practice processes and procedures related to the backup environment

• Help to maintain 99.999% Backup availability

• Establish Backup & Recovery strategies and procedures and ensure that these are incorporated in the data center design to ensure minimum system downtime due to hardware components failure.

• Ensure alignment of Backup & Recovery strategy

• Adhere to procedures

Required:                                 

•   Bachelor's Degree

•   At least 2 years experience in understanding customer issues and linking business to technology, building strong ROI and business justification for investment.

•   At least 2 years experience in understanding of database, database tools, data governance concepts and technologies.

•   At least 2 years experience in understanding the requirements of a project from scoping, expectation setting, requirements gathering, working with services teams, preparing the right offer for the customer.

•   English: Fluent                           

Preferred:                              

•   Engineering

•   At least 5 years experience in understanding customer issues and linking business to technology, building strong ROI and business justification for investment.

•   At least 5 years experience in understanding of database, database tools, data governance concepts and technologies.

•   At least 5 years experience in understanding the requirements of a project from scoping, expectation setting, requirements gathering, working with services teams, preparing the right offer for the customer.                     

Additional information

•   B.Sc in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

•   Good presentation skills, strong objection handling.

•   Ability to communicate with C-Level
