Imo CAN appeals to Boko Haram on killings

OWERRI—IMO State Branch of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has appealed to members of Boko Haram and their sponsors to stop the senseless bloodshed and wanton destruction of lives and property of fellow Nigerians.

Chairman of the state CAN, Pastor Cosmas Ilechukwu, who spoke with journalists in Owerri, reminded them that they did not have monopoly of violence.

He said: "This country has had more than its fair share of bloodshed. The sponsors of Boko Haram and their acolytes should have a rethink and stop the irresponsible and brutal murder of innocent citizens, especially as they do not have the patent for violence."
