Job Title: Senior Engineer – Microwave Planning (North)

Reports To: Manager-Transmission Planning (Access)

Job Summary:

Plan and design access transmission links to support sites rollout and the entire network

Principal Functions:

•   Plan and design microwave links to support Etisalat Nigeria site rollout activities in assigned region

•   Generate transmission link budget for site rollout

•   Plan and design microwave metro SDH link to support site rollout and site upgrade

•   Design transmission links for site connectivity and ensure minimal dependencies of sites

•   Plan and design microwave last-mile links to support POI and MGW connections

•   Plan and design transmission links to support ABIS expansion and BTS site optimization

•   Plan and design transmission links to support UMTS rollout

•   Conduct line of sight surveys for transmission links

•   Generate work order for implementation and operations team

•   Develop processes and procedures for access transmission links

•   Keep abreast of global and local best practices with regard to transmission planning and design

•   Maintain in-depth knowledge and databases of existing access transmission infrastructure

Educational Requirements:

•   First degree or equivalent in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering and/ or any other relevant discipline

•   Postgraduate/ professional qualification in a related field will provide an advantage

Experience & Skills:

•   At least four (4) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience, including understanding of mobile technology backhaul at the access, transport and core network layers

•   Ideal candidate must also be able to demonstrate familiarity with use of Pathloss software for designing transmission links
