Buhari, in a message to the people of Enugu State at the weekend, said: "When the monumental corruption which is the metaphor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)s led government is halted, government funding will succeed and FDI will readily flow-in. Nobody wants to entrust his funds in the hands of thieves."

Buhari called on all Nigerians to abandon the PDP.

He said: "For we cannot reward PDP for pervasive corruption, for we cannot reward PDP for ineptitude, for we cannot reward PDP for failed promises and we cannot reward PDP for insecurity."

He promised to sanitise the system and return the country to a disciplined society, where proper rule of law will be renewed.

According to a statement signed by the Coordinator, Buhari Campaign Organisation (BCO), Enugu State , Mr. Osita Okechukwu: "Buhari promised, if elected to industrialise Nigeria – to construct coal – fired – power – station and cement factory at Enugu State . Buhari said the CPC has an elaborate plan to construct mini-power stations across the country targeting abundant coal deposits at Enugu , Benue , Kogi and other parts of the country.
