Roles and responsibilities   

1.Assist the SMOH to determine data requirements of all partner organizations and consolidate those in a simple system that serves the needs of all parties without increasing the workload of the health workers;

2.Provide technical assistance to SMOH to identify improvement needs and meet those through training and capacity building or through procurement and supply of minimum equipment;

3.Continuously monitor the quality of HMIS data produced through cross checking sample information and other means;

4.Assist the SMOH to analyze and use the data for monitoring the progress of maternal, child, and reproductive health and other health services and take corrective actions on time to improve the performance. This will also include using data for annual planning, planning for supervisory activities and determine priority action areas;

5.Introduce a system for data utilization at the clinic level and feedback system for SMOH to every level below;

6.Work closely with the Project Monitoring and Evaluation team to ensure an integration of the Project's data collection and the HMIS.

7.As necessary, work in coordination with ICT Specialists to develop programs and database systems needed;

8.Contribute to the preparation of the project quarterly report, including identifying success stories;

9.Participates in the initial LGA assessment and community mobilization inventory and other baseline data gathering;

10.With technical and zonal teams, identifies potential problem areas, gaps or other issues that require immediate attention and implement corrective measures;

11.Participates in all aspects of the life of the project; works with colleagues and counterparts to ensure project success;

12.Represents the project at local, state or national meetings and conferences related to the HMIS program, as delegated; and

13.Other duties as assigned.

Skill set:

1-Skilled in use of HMIS software currently being used by the State & LGA HMIS.

2-Demonstrated ability to be both a team player and to lead teams and to organize multiple and simultaneous sets of activities.

3-strong community ties and demonstrated ability to work with communities, WARD development committees, LGA leadership and SMOH technical staff. Must have the confidence of the client.

4-Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access; ability to produce accurate reports and data on activities.

Work experience: 3-4years.
