Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed that the club will be taking action against Ashley Cole over disparaging remarks he made towards the Football Association on Twitter.
Cole, 31, was forced to apologise to the FA on Friday after labelling them a "bunch of t***s'' for accusing him of "evolving" his statement supporting John Terry's defence against the charge he racially abused Anton Ferdinand.
The former Arsenal man, who is England's most capped full-backof all time, had appeared in danger of burning his bridges with the national team after the comments but he swiftly issued an apology for his comments.
Cole's apology is unlikely to appease either the FA or his club and Chelsea boss Di Matteo has stressed that the left-back will be disciplined, while an FA charge is also expected in the coming days.
