ONITSHA—Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, yesterday donated relief materials worth N21 million to flood victims in the nine local government areas of Anambra state.

Addressing reporters after donating the items, leader of the NIMASA delegation, Mr. Nwabueze Obi, said their visit was to sympathise with their brothers and sisters who were displaced by the flood.

He said: "The agency is touched and that is why we are here as part of our corporate social responsibility to come and identify with our brothers and sisters and to tell them that by the grace of God, in the next few months, they will go back to their homes."

Obi, who is the Executive Director of Maritime Labour and Capital Services of NIMASA, explained that of the N21 million relief materials, each of the nine local government areas got materials worth N2.4million.

The items given to each of the affected local government areas were 300 pieces of foams, 100 cartons of indomie, 50 bags of rice, 2 bags of beans, among others.
