The GreenMatter Fellowships are offered by Canon Collins Educational and Legal Assistance Trustfor a Full or Part-time Master's or Doctoral Program at a South African Higher Education Institute  in South Africa 2013

Study Subject(s): The scholarship is provided to learn any field of study that aligned to GreenMatter's priority areas.

Course Level: This scholarship is for pursuing full or part-time master's or doctoral programme  level.

Eligibility: To apply under this programme you must be:

-A citizen of South Africa

-Normally resident in South Africa

-In possession of a good first degree (minimum second class, upper division or equivalent) or about to graduate in the year of application

-Seeking funding for a full or part-time Masters or doctoral programme at a South African higher education institute

-Pursuing a field of study aligned to GreenMatter's priority areas.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of South Africa can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: The GreenMatter Fellowship is designed to connect a community of outstanding Biodiversity champions and leaders, to support their professional development and positively profile their work and the Biodiversity sector. It affords participants the opportunity to fully engage in tackling biodiversity issues through their study and career paths, alongside peers who share in their commitment.

Number of awards offered: Not Known

Tenure of award: GreenMatter will provide funding for up to a maximum of two years for Masters and three years for PhD.

Value:  Total value of up to 50% of average costs, per academic year. Average costs are calculated in view of living expenses, study fees, research equipment, research costs and travel opportunities.

Other Benefits: In addition GreenMatter will provide mentorship, careers guidance and a platform for engaging in learning networks.

Selection Criteria:Your application will be assessed on the basis of the information given in the application form. We apply the following criteria: Relevance in terms of the focus theme, Relevance in terms of priority skills, Leadership Competencies, Academic Record and References and Transformation and Access to Opportunity.

Notification: We will acknowledge receipt of your application. We will be interviewing shortlisted applicants by telephone in November. We will let you know the outcome of your application by the beginning of December 2012.
