FORMER President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, said the ruling Peoples DemocraticParty (PDP) is not sufficiently disciplined.
He warned that the quest to reclaim the South-West in 2015 from the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) might be a mirage without a culture of discipline.
He made this remark at the South-West caucus meeting of the party held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The immediate Chairman Board of Trustees of the party urged members to come together in order to reclaim the zone in 2015.
He, however, commended party members over the performance of PDP candidate, Olusola Oke, in last Saturday's governorship election in Ondo State where the party emerged second.
According to him, the outing was not a bad one despite the PDP not winning the election.
Obasanjo urged that lessons from the election should be noted and urged Oke to move on and forget the idea of going to the tribunal.
He said: "There is no perfect election. Whatever might be the shortcoming of the election should be overlooked, since such might not necessarily upturn the table. We should accept defeat and start looking forward."
In his welcome address, the Zonal Chairman, former Governor, Segun Oni, said the performance of the PDP in the Ondo State election is a pointer to its acceptability as a party in waiting to form the next government in the zone.
"Our party has shown clearly by the performance in the Ondo State election that we hold the future in the South-West. We arethe party of promise. Our people have seen through the falsehood and deceit of the ACN and are yearning for change. We are the change that the South-West needs and wants," Oni said.
