Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has revealed that key opposition figures, including Labour Party’s presidential candidate Peter Obi and former governors Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, are forging an alliance to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Shaibu said Atiku, Obi, Amaechi and El-Rufai are determined to unite not just to win power but to “rescue Nigeria” from what he described as a regime of “urban bandits” who, according to him, came to power through manipulation rather than merit.

“From Atiku to Obi, from Amaechi to El-Rufai, they are uniting — not just to win, but to rescue. The Urban Bandits may have mocked their hashtags, but they will soon learn that hashtags grow into hurricanes,” Shaibu said.
He argued that Tinubu’s administration is doomed to fail at the polls due to mounting economic hardship and widespread hunger.
“No amount of propaganda can cover hunger. No PR can spin poverty,” he stated.
“When salaries are worthless, businesses are folding, and hope is taxed, no billboard or ‘thank you’ rally can save you.”
Shaibu further accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of betraying its campaign promises, saying the government that promised “Renewed Hope” has instead delivered “Renewed Hardship.”
