Sir Alex Ferguson Will Play Role In Final LVG Decision

United owners Joel and Avram Glazer have left the decision over the manager to Woodward and his fellow board members based in the UK, and he is leaning heavily on Sir Alex and Gill for his soundings.

Both are supporters of Van Gaal still, who took training on Monday, but both are aware that if they don’t act swiftly then they could lose Mourinho as a potential replacement, because of the situation at the Bernabeu.

Van Gaal, for his part, reported for duty as usual on Monday, although the United boss admitted over the weekend that he was unsure of his future following the 2-1 home reverse to Norwich.

Ferguson, who bossed United for 26 successful seasons before calling time on his career in May 2013, is good friends with both Van Gaal and Mourinho. We’re surprised United are still speaking to him after he recommended the appointment of David Moyes.
