Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award winner, Faithia Balogun, recently shared bald photos of herself on the set of new movie “Shola Arikusa.”
In a new interview with HipTV, the actress who last went bald 15 years ago for her self-produced movie “Makomi,” revealed she was paid a lot of money to go bald in “Shola Arikusa.”
“I’m not exactly allowed to say the figure, but I was paid, like money. I was paid,” she said. “When they brought the script, I said ‘wow, it has been a while I actually scrapped my hair.’ I did that in like 15 years ago when I did my movie “Makomi,” and “Makomi” was talk of town then. I loved the script and character, so I said ‘let’s sit down and talk.’ So we did and off I went.”
On her upcoming English movie, the filmmaker said, “Right now I am working on my new first ever English movie, written by me, and a short movie too in English.”
Directed by Okiki Afolayan, “Shola Arikusa” stars Balogun alongside Yinka Quadri, Femi Adebayo, Odunlade Adekola, Toyosi Adesanya, amongst others.
Other Nollywood actors to go bald for a movie role include Ivie Okujaye, Eve Esin, Oge Okoye, Mercy Johnson, Chika Ike, among others.
