Nigeria international and Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has dismissed concerns about an injury he sustained in the Citizen’s win over Steaua Bucharest.
Iheanacho had a scare in the 75th minute when he nearly lost consciousness after damaging his hamstring during the second leg Champions League playoff game against Steaua Bucharest at the Etihad Stadium.
It took the intervention of Steaua player, Bogdan Mitrea who stopped Iheanacho from swallowing his tongue when he collapsed.
Amidst fears over the injury, the 19-year old took to Instagram to assure everyone that he is okay.
“Great result for the team today. Very pleased we’ve qualified for the Champions’ League group stages. Thank you everyone for your messages. I’m pleased to inform you all that I’m okay,” he wrote on Instagram.
Before his injury, the Nigeria international was impressive in the game and contributed to the City’s only goal of the game.
After getting on a pass from Yaya Toure, Iheanacho played a perfect ball for Jesus Navas whose cross was converted into the net by Fabian Delph.
