Manchester United Boss, Jose Mourinho has said Lingard will be fit to face Chelsea despite being substituted with a back problem against Benfica on Tuesday.
Lingard picked up a knock in the first half of Manchester United’s 2-0 win at Old Trafford but carried on until half-time before being replaced by Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The 24-year-old is due to be assessed at Carrington on Wednesday but Jose Mourinho said after the final whistle that the injury was “nothing important.”
Mourinho is set to be without both Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Pogba has missed the last 11 games with a hamstring injury, while Fellaini has not played since suffering a knee ligament strain while playing for Belgium during the last international break.
United travel to London looking for their first away win at Chelsea since October 2012. They have won just one of their last nine visits in all competitions.
