
Orange CAF Super Cup facts ahead of match between Al-Ahly of Egypt and CS Sfaxien of Tunisia at Cairo Stadium on Thursday 20th February:
- Ahly are hoping to be the first club to win successive titles twice. The Cairo club, Nigerians Enyimba and Congolese TP Mazembe have achieved the feat once.
- Egypt are the most successful country in the competition with eight titles followed by three for Tunisia. Ahly have lifted the trophy five times and Cairo neighbours Zamalek three times.
- Ahly trounced South Africans Kaizer Chiefs 4-1 in 2002 for a record winning margin. However, penalties were needed seven times with the longest shootout ending in a 9-8 win for Mazembe over Moroccans FUS Rabat.
- The most common results have been 2-0 and 0-0 with four of each among the 21 matches. There have been 46 goals at an average of 2.19 per game.
- Since being given home advantage in 1996, Champions League title-holders have won 15 of 17 matches with Tunisians Etoile Sahel and Moroccans Moghreb Fes bucking the trend.
