Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has come out to say that he and his teammates believed until the end vs Manchester City. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, staying in the game till the equaliser and second goal gave the players the belief they needed to see the tie out, and City immediately knew it was slipping out of their hands.
Courtois added that Real Madrid has eliminated amazing teams to reach the final, but the job is still not complete.
His words, “We believed until the end,”
“[Ferland] Mendy made a key save on the line, and I did too. We made it 1-1 and then 2-1 and they were dead. We won’t say they were crapping themselves, but they knew anything could happen.”
“We’ve eliminated great teams, teams that have spent a lot of money to try to win the Champions League. The route we’ve taken, with PSG, Chelsea and today. The last few minutes were incredible.”
