Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has come out to say that he understands Erik ten Hag benching Ronaldo vs Manchester City. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, he gets Ten Hag’s point for not playing CR7 because bringing Ronaldo on at 4-0 and 6-1 would have been an insult to the football great.
Neville added that maybe the manager did not interpret his thoughts correctly, but he likes his honesty.
His words, “I get [Ten Hag’s] point to be honest.”
“Bringing Ronaldo on at 4-0 and 6-1 would have been an insult. Ten Hag may not have delivered the line correctly and probably would have been best not saying it, but I like his honesty.”
