Lionel Messi rejected a move to Saudi Arabia because he loves football, Barcelona legend, Hristo Stoichkov has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Messi deciding to shun the football in Saudi Arabia was another sign of his greatness because he proved he still wants to play for love, not for money.

Hristo added that Lionel has gone to the MLS to compete in the league, and it was indeed the right decision.
His words, “We didn’t play for money, we played for love.”
“This shows greatness. It didn’t matter to me to know my salary or the bonuses, for me it was more important to play and that people value me.”
“The agents take care of the other things. Messi comes to compete and play and he doesn’t care about money because he loves football.”
