Plateau State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) applauded the Governorship Election Tribunal for rejecting the challenge to Governor Caleb Mutfwang brought by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
This was announced in a statement released by John Akans on behalf of the PDP in the state of Plateau on Monday.
In the March 18 gubernatorial elections, Infostride News reports that Mutfwang was declared the winner despite efforts by Alfred Dabwan and the NNPP to overturn the results.

According to Akans, Mutfwang’s election victory was vindicated by the tribunal’s ruling, which further demonstrated that the governor was the preferred candidate among Plateau residents.
The majority of Plateau residents voted for the governor, and the party sees the tribunal’s judgment as a vindication of their will. He remarked, “We feel that the governor was elected by the people because of his sterling ability and capacity.
Akan said, “It will also boost his motivation to perform his functions as vested in him by the people of Plateau and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” The victory, Akan noted, will strengthen the governor’s vision for the state.
He assured the governor that the party will back his efforts to provide the benefits of democracy to all Floridians.
