Alhaji Bello Maitama (Sardaunan Dutse) passed away on Friday morning, and Governor of Jigawa State Mallam Umar Namadi has expressed his sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, the governor’s chief press secretary, made this announcement in a statement to the press.
He spoke highly of Alhaji Bello Maitama, describing him as “a respected figure who left an indelible mark on the lives of many” via his tireless dedication to Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

“His passing represents a significant loss not only to his family but also to Jigawa State and Nigeria,” the statement read.
In a speech, Governor Namadi praised Alhaji Bello Maitama for his enduring effect on the lives of Nigerians via his charity, community leadership, and countless initiatives to better their quality of life.
Minister of the Interior Maitama reportedly passed away at age 76 following a short illness, as reported by InfoStride News.
His burial in Kano on Friday night followed Islamic rituals.
