According to the recommendation made by the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC), President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Mr. Shaakaa Chira to the position of substantive Auditor-General of the Federation.
According to a statement that was released on Friday by Ajuri Ngelale, the President gave his approval to Chira’s appointment after the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) conducted a screening exercise that identified him as the most qualified candidate who had also scored the highest in the examination amongst all of the qualified candidates for the office.
The statement said that the President made this decision after the FCSC identified Chira as the candidate with the highest qualifications.

According to him, the president has told him that he wants the new Auditor-General to justify the confidence that has been placed in him and to live up to the high expectations that Nigerians have regarding the administration’s execution of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In addition to this, he pointed out that all the president did was execute the powers that were given to him by Section 86 of the Constitution in its Amended Form in 1999.
