Atiku Abubakar, who served as Vice President of Nigeria in the past, has extended his congratulations to Governor Duoye Diri on his victory in the election for governor of Bayelsa State.
To refresh your memory, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Monday that Diri won the election with a total of 175,196 votes, beating out other candidates, including his closest challenger Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 110,108 votes.
In response, Atiku extended his congratulations to the citizens of Bayelsa for voting for the People’s Democratic Party, also known as the PDP.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere congratulations to Your Excellency, Governor Duoye Diri of our great party and the state of Bayelsa on his hard-fought and well-won electoral victory.”
“The faith that your people have in you is reflected in the fact that you were reelected as a result of your performance during your first term.
He commented on X, “I congratulate the people of Bayelsa who stood firmly by their votes, by the PDP, and by the Governor,” and he thanked them for their support.
