In a recent statement, Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), expressed confidence in the party’s stronghold on the governorship seat. Dismissing concerns about potential opposition, particularly from the Obidient movement linked to former governor Peter Obi, Obi-Okoye asserted that APGA remained resilient.
Addressing journalists in Awka, the state capital, Obi-Okoye stated that APGA wasn’t intimidated by the Obidient movement, predicting its eventual fade. Emphasizing past victories over candidates backed by Peter Obi, he conveyed optimism that APGA would repeat its success in the upcoming 2025 election.
Referring to Peter Obi’s potential candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, Obi-Okoye remarked, “The Obidient man (Obi), APGA has beaten him twice.”

He highlighted the historical significance of the last Obidient Movement, likening it to lessons from the past and assuring that a repeat was unlikely.
Obi-Okoye concluded by urging Governor Soludo to focus on governance, emphasizing ongoing projects that would solidify his position. He anticipated the successful completion of these projects, asserting that they would resonate positively with voters before the end of the next year.
