Bode George, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his views on the Labour Party (LP), stating that it was formed out of anger and lacks the structural foundation required to win national elections.
In a press address, George called on the 2023 LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to reconsider his political alignment and return to the PDP.
He emphasized the widespread recognition of the PDP across the country, contrasting it with what he perceives as the limited reach of the Labour Party.

“The Labour Party doesn’t have the root. I have traversed every state in the country, there is nowhere you will not know or hear about our party, because it carries the full colour of Nigeria,” George asserted.
Describing the LP as a movement born out of anger, he highlighted its perceived lack of a solid foundation and compared it to a passing wind.
George acknowledged the potential for dialogue with Peter Obi, stating, “We can still talk to him, if he wants to.”
George emphasized his commitment to inclusiveness and justice in the political process, rejecting tribalism.
He asserted that, as leaders of the PDP, they must prioritize the party’s national character, proclaiming the PDP as the only true national party in Nigeria.
