Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has signed into law the state’s 2024 budget totaling N258,278,501,339.00.
The budget, tagged ‘Budget of Consolidation and Continuity for Inclusive Growth,’ is aimed at furthering the development of the state.
During the signing ceremony at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Lokoja, Governor Bello expressed confidence in the incoming administration’s ability to build upon the foundation of development laid down by his administration.

He emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment for the smooth implementation of the budget to benefit the people of the state.
Bello commended the lawmakers for the swift passage of the bill and assured a seamless transition for the incoming government.
He praised the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf, for his dedication to the state’s growth and development, expressing confidence in the leadership of Ahmed Usman Ododo.
Speaker Umar Yusuf, in presenting the budget for the governor’s assent, highlighted the Assembly’s thorough consideration of the budget and its engagement with various agencies to ensure it reflects the interests of the people.
Aside from the budget, the House passed bills to amend and re-enact the Kogi State Local Government Law, the Kogi State Oil Producing Area Development Commission bill (KOSOPADEC), and the bill to amend the College of Nursing and Midwifery Obagende.
