An Osun State High Court has removed Oba Johnson Ajiboye as the traditional ruler of Olola of Ola in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, causing tension in the town.
Justice Lawrence Arojo delivered the judgment, declaring the stool of Olola of Ola vacant due to alleged illegality in Ajiboye’s appointment by Governor Ademola Adeleke on January 3, 2024.
The appointment was made despite a pending court case and restraining order, leading to six interlocutory injunctions granted in favor of the opposing family on March 25, 2024.

The head of the kingmakers, Dr. Femi Fasanya, had boycotted and disowned Ajiboye’s installation process in January 2024, citing irregularities.
In response to the judgment, the opposing family house, Olugbode, represented by David Salako and Kola Sangoniran, filed a motion seeking Ajiboye’s removal and the nullification of his appointment letter.
In a petition to the Osun Police Command, Sangoniran expressed concerns about possible anarchy, stating that Ajiboye was planning to confer chieftaincy titles in defiance of court orders, potentially leading to a breakdown of law and order.
