The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to dismiss demands for the redeployment of Ondo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola.
Speaking at a press conference in Akure on Wednesday, Ondo State IPAC Chairman, Mr. Olaoluwa Adesanya, affirmed IPAC’s confidence in Babalola’s integrity and capability to oversee a credible, fair, and free election on November 16.
Adesanya highlighted that Babalola had maintained transparency by involving IPAC in all INEC activities related to the upcoming polls.

He described allegations of her collusion with political parties as unfounded and unsubstantiated.
“IPAC Ondo State has absolute confidence in the ability of REC Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola to conduct a free, fair, and credible election in the forthcoming November 16, 2024, governorship election,” Adesanya stated.
“We unanimously pass a vote of confidence in Mrs. Babalola to carry out her statutory obligations.”
He also urged security agencies to proactively address any potential threats from political thugs that could disrupt the peace during the election.
This comes after recent protests in Akure and Abuja, where some groups claimed that Babalola might show bias in the conduct of the election.
