Labour Party Launches Youth Empowerment Initiative Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Labour Party (LP) has launched an initiative aimed at enhancing grassroots mobilization and empowering youth leaders nationwide as part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections.

At the party’s National Youth Leaders Conference on Wednesday in Abuja, the LP emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among youths in driving the change needed to secure the presidency.

Marcel Ngogbehei, Director-General of the Labour Party Directorate of Mobilization and Integration, highlighted the pivotal role of youth leaders in shaping the political landscape.

He stressed the significance of grassroots leadership in promoting national unity and bridging divides within communities and among stakeholders.

The Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth leaders by providing training programs, advocacy platforms, and resources to enhance their effectiveness.

Ngogbehei also expressed the party’s dedication to creating a fair, inclusive, and accessible political environment, with youth playing a central role in policy formulation and strategy development.

Ngogbehei outlined a collective vision focused on addressing Nigeria’s key challenges, including security, economic empowerment, education, sustainable development, and good governance.

He encouraged youth leaders to leverage the conference as a platform for strategizing, building networks, and developing actionable solutions to these pressing issues.

“The energy, creativity, and commitment you bring to our party are not only inspiring but essential as we work to build a stronger and more inclusive Labour Party and Nigeria.

Our nation is at a pivotal point, and your role as youth leaders cannot be understated. You are not just the voice of tomorrow—you are the force of today,” Ngogbehei stated.

He concluded by stressing the importance of ensuring that the concerns, aspirations, and visions of young people are central to the party’s policies and strategies.
