The Accord Party has called on the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to prioritize addressing insecurity, economic challenges, and power supply issues in 2025.
In a goodwill message to Nigerians, signed by the party’s National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem, Accord emphasized the need for prayers, peace, tolerance, and patriotism among citizens.
The party urged collective efforts toward achieving good governance and progressive leadership.

Reflecting on the hardships of the previous year, Mgbudem highlighted the impact of policies such as the removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira, which led to a significant rise in the cost of living and an inflation rate of 34.6%, the highest in decades.
“This will be achieved if we set aside partisan and primordial interests, be in one accord, and foster sustainable development that will improve the well-being of citizens.
A robust democracy depends on the equal and active participation of the populace,” the statement read.
The party urged the Federal Government to “sit up” and create an enabling environment for economic growth, youth and women empowerment, food security, stable power supply, and political stability.
“There cannot be progress without national security.
The fight against terrorism, insurgency, banditry, militancy, and kidnapping must be intensified and crushed in 2025,” the statement added.
The Accord Party further called for better equipping and motivation of security agencies to ensure they effectively discharge their constitutional duties.
While commending the progress made so far, the party urged security forces to push for complete victory, emphasizing that the nation’s thoughts and prayers remain with them.
Finally, the party encouraged Nigerians to hold governments at all levels accountable, stressing that doing so is essential for strengthening democracy and returning power to the people.
“It is the only way to strengthen the nation’s democracy and return power to the people on whom sovereignty resides,” the statement concluded.
