A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulmajid Dan Bilki Commander, has expressed deep regret over his decision to campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 general election, citing the administration’s failure to meet Nigerians’ expectations.
Speaking in a telephone interview with Daily Trust, Commander lamented that Tinubu’s leadership has disappointed many who voted for him.
“In my entire life, I have never regretted an action as much as I regret campaigning for President Tinubu,” he stated.

He acknowledged that while he remains an active APC member, he can no longer ignore the hardships Nigerians are facing under the current administration.
“It pains me, but the truth must be told. I dedicated my time and resources to convincing people to vote for the party, and now I deeply regret my actions.
This administration has failed Nigerians,” he added.
Commander further emphasized that, as someone who represents the interests of the people, he feels compelled to seek their forgiveness, admitting that the promises he made on behalf of the APC-led government have not been fulfilled.
“Nigerians are suffering. Their expectations from this government have not been met,” he said. “People are hungry and frustrated.
Security is not assured, governance is lopsided, and many can no longer afford two square meals a day.”
His remarks add to growing concerns over the government’s handling of economic and security challenges, as citizens continue to voice their frustrations over the state of the nation.
