The Osun State Government has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its members of orchestrating violence and looting at local government secretariats across the state.
Speaking on a live radio broadcast monitored by Newsmen on Monday, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, alleged that APC-sponsored thugs had attacked secretariats in Ilesa East, Ifelodun, Odo-Otin, Osogbo West, and Osogbo Local Government.
“We can now confirm that the APC and their thugs have invaded several local government secretariats, looting properties. The people have risen to resist them,” Alimi said.

He urged residents to avoid confrontation and instead record video evidence of the incidents.
APC Denies Allegations
However, APC member Waheed Adekunle refuted the allegations, insisting that party members were only enforcing a February 10 Appeal Court ruling.
“All the state government and the PDP are doing is whipping up sentiments.
We are legally enforcing the court’s judgment with the full cooperation of security agencies, including the police and civil defence corps,” Adekunle stated.
Contrary to government claims, DAILY POST learned that APC members and elected council officials had gathered at the secretariats but were denied entry due to a directive from the Osun chapters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).
The unions had ordered workers to stay away for safety reasons.
Governor Adeleke Calls for Federal Intervention
Meanwhile, Governor Ademola Adeleke accused the APC and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, of plotting to forcefully seize local government secretariats.
At a press conference on Sunday, Adeleke called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and urged security agencies to prevent further unrest.
In response, the APC held a separate briefing, urging Adeleke to accept the court ruling while criticizing his remarks about President Tinubu and Oyetola.
