The legal battle between the Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Adolphus Wabara, has escalated, with the Abia State High Court in Obehie, Ukwa West Local Government Area, restraining the enforcement of Wabara’s suspension.
Presiding over the case between Wabara and Abraham Amah, Justice L.T.C. Eruba issued an order preventing Amah from claiming the Abia State PDP chairmanship and from enforcing Wabara’s suspension.
In the suit marked HUK/8/2025, Wabara sought a court injunction to halt the suspension imposed on him by the state PDP leadership. Granting his request, the court ruled:

“The defendant is restrained from enforcing the suspension of the claimant/applicant from the Peoples Democratic Party, or in any way affecting his position as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, until the motion on notice is determined.”
Amah had accused Wabara of anti-party activities, citing his public commendation of Governor Alex Otti’s performance as one of the reasons for his suspension.
Meanwhile, the PDP Frontiers for Change and Progress, a pro-party group, has dismissed claims by former Abia State Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, that Wabara held a secret meeting in London with Governor Otti to discuss a possible defection to the PDP.
The group’s National Coordinator, Emeka Yellow Ikpegbu, challenged Okiyi to provide evidence of the alleged meeting.
