Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on his supporters to stay resolute as the political crisis in the state continues to unfold.
In a speech on Monday, Fubara reassured his supporters following the Supreme Court ruling that overturned some of his functions, including the reinstatement of sacked lawmakers and the annulment of the local government election he conducted.
Thousands of his supporters had gathered in solidarity with the governor on Monday morning, expressing their unwavering support after the court’s decision.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Fubara acknowledged the emotional toll of the recent ruling, urging his supporters not to be discouraged. He emphasized that more challenges might lie ahead.
“I want to assure all our supporters. I know that the news that broke out on Friday must have dampened your spirit.
Brace up, for what is ahead is more than what we just passed,” he said.
Fubara further urged the crowd to trust in divine support, stating, “As a human being, I know you feel somehow, but just relax. God has our backs. Our back is not on anybody but God.”
The governor concluded with a message of loyalty and commitment, saying, “If there is one person on this planet earth that will stand by you, I will be that person.
I assure you that I will leave you with honour, respect, and integrity.”
