The African Action Congress (AAC) has elected Miss Chioma Ifemeludike as its flagbearer for the upcoming November 2025 governorship election in Anambra State.
Ifemeludike emerged as the party’s candidate during its primary election held in the state.
She is expected to contest against the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and other candidates from various political parties.
The primary exercise was overseen by the chairman of the election committee, Mr. Oshiokhe Ikpeminoghena, who stated that it was the constitutional responsibility of the party to present a credible candidate. He confirmed that Ifemeludike met all requirements and procedures necessary to qualify for the race.
The National Chairman of AAC, Comrade Omoyele Sowore, was represented at the event by the party’s National Treasurer, Dr. Sam Ajeigbe.
In her acceptance speech, Ifemeludike expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to uphold the ideals of the party. She assured that under her leadership, the people of Anambra—particularly women, children, and youths—would be empowered to become better citizens.
A native of Eziowele in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ifemeludike was unanimously elected through an affirmation vote by members of the congress.
