A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure victory in both the North and South during the 2027 presidential election.
Akindele, in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, dismissed recent political moves by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to build a coalition against Tinubu ahead of the next general election.
“See, no matter how aggressively El-Rufai and Atiku incite the North against Tinubu, TINUBU will still win both the North and the South by wide margin in 2027,” Akindele wrote.

His statement comes amid growing political activity as Atiku and El-Rufai recently met with Northern opposition figures in Kaduna following a courtesy visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari. The meeting is widely believed to be part of efforts to form a strong coalition to unseat Tinubu in the next election cycle.
The move has generated mixed reactions across political circles, with some Nigerians doubting the effectiveness of the emerging alliance and expressing belief in Tinubu’s ability to secure a second term.
Despite the growing opposition, supporters within the APC maintain that Tinubu’s achievements and political influence across regions will guarantee him a decisive victory in 2027.
