Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has stated that the South-East will produce Nigeria’s President someday, but not in the 2027 elections.
Umahi made this remark while responding to an online publication that claimed the South-East was being sidelined in infrastructure development.
He described the report as misleading and inaccurate, emphasizing that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is working on various infrastructure projects across the nation.
Umahi has directed regional directors to compile ongoing and new projects to showcase the administration’s efforts.
He believes Tinubu’s fair distribution of infrastructure is aimed at reuniting Nigerians and renewing their hope.
Umahi is urging the people of the South-East to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid, suggesting that this would be a strategic move for the region.
He emphasized that politics can be deceptive, and some individuals may use misinformation to manipulate public opinion.
Umahi’s comments highlight the complex dynamics of Nigerian politics, where regional representation and infrastructure development are crucial factors.
