Former Minister of Interior and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has kicked off a large-scale membership mobilisation drive for the party in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, calling on Nigerians to vote out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the rally on Monday, Aregbesola accused the APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party (LP) of failing to deliver good governance or meaningful development to Nigerians.
He described the ADC as the only credible alternative capable of “resetting the country on the path of progress.”

“This is the time for Nigerians to make a decisive choice. The ADC offers a new vista of hope and opportunity.
Go out and spread the gospel of the ADC to all Nigerians, especially in your local government areas. Tell them our party is ready to bring real change,” Aregbesola charged.
The event, which attracted a large turnout despite initial delays, is part of a broader nationwide mobilisation effort by the ADC.
Aregbesola urged members to step up grassroots sensitisation, encourage voter registration during the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continuous voter registration exercise, and prepare to “protect their votes” in 2027.
Prominent ADC leaders at the rally included Lagos State Chairman, George Ashiru; Lagos political influencer, Rahman Owokoniran; and Kosofe LGA organiser, Funmi Onita-Coker.
They all stressed the importance of early mobilisation to strengthen the party’s presence across the state.
Ashiru welcomed prospective members and assured them of “honest and transparent leadership,” promising equal opportunities for both new entrants and existing members.
The mobilisation drive also signalled Aregbesola’s growing political distance from President Bola Tinubu and the Lagos APC structure.
He concluded by announcing that ADC membership cards would soon be available for distribution to boost recruitment efforts.
