Hollywood actor Jason Momoa has shared how he almost lost his life during a terrifying paddleboarding accident in Hawaii. He recently revealed that the incident happened back in 2007 while he was paddling with friends near the famous “Jaws” surf break.
Speaking on a podcast, Jason revealed that he and his friends planned a 13-mile paddle, but about seven miles in, his leash snapped, leaving him completely stranded almost a mile offshore in very scary winds.

According to him, even though he stayed calm at first, as soon as the 10-foot waves began to crash over him while the shore remained far away, panic began to set in.
“I was stuck in this crazy spot on the outer reef. They couldn’t see me. I was waving my paddle, but the waves were too big,” he said.
Momoa disclosed that thoughts of his 3-month-old daughter made him even more desperate to survive, and at some point, he stopped feeling his arms and legs.
He concluded by saying that his toe eventually hit the reef, and a friend spotted him in time to help.
“I feel grateful to be alive. I was head down, just paddling with my ancestors,” he added.
