Popular singer Fido has opened up about a bitter fallout with his former record label and management. He recently revealed that they took almost all of his advance payment, stalling his music career in the process.
Speaking during a radio interview, the “Joy Is Coming” crooner shared that out of a $20,000 advance, he only got about ₦1.5 million (slightly above $1,000).

According to him, his former team were callous enough to keep as much as 95% of the funds, and he has proof to back up his claim.
He stated that despite being very transparent with them, they paid him back with deceit and lies.
“I was transparent with them even when I was still with them, but they took all my advance from me… they gave me just ₦1.5 million out of $20,000,” he said.
The talented artist further noted that the dispute that ensued eventually held his career back, making people question why he is not bigger than he currently is.
He concluded by saying that the fans only saw him and his music, but a lot of pain was being felt behind the scenes.
“People never knew what I was facing. They just thought, ‘Ah, this boy, this…’ But they never knew the battles behind the scenes,” he added.
