Nollywood actress Bimbo Thomas has explained why she quit acting. She recently revealed that she stopped accepting movie roles to avoid being stereotyped.
Speaking during an interview, Bimbo shared that producers constantly trying to restrict her to a particular character made her fed up with Nollywood as a whole.

“I felt they wanted to box me, they wanted to put me in a corner,” she said.
According to her, because she is fully aware that she can easily switch between roles if given the opportunity, she refused to be seen in only one light.
She concluded by saying that even though she can perform in pidgin English roles, it is not her natural way of speaking.
“One minute I’m speaking phonetically, the next I do ghetto and so on.
I wasn’t born in the barracks, so pidgin isn’t my thing,” she added.
Bimbo Thomas is widely recognised for her performance in “Omo Ghetto” and its sequel “Omo Ghetto: The Saga.”
She is a UNILAG Creative Arts graduate who has appeared in several Yoruba and English movies.
