Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has urged his players to grow up this season. This is coming as their wait for a first Premier League victory of the season continued following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Fulham.
Speaking to the press, he revealed that his players have to improve their mentality in-game if they are to start turning draws into wins.

According to him, while he is happy with how his side has been performing in training, the team suddenly forgot how to play after taking the lead against Fulham.
He stated that trying to hold onto the lead, instead of scoring more goals, was the poor mentality that led to the equaliser.
“I think we scored the goal and then we forgot about how we play. We want to win so badly, and that is a good feeling, that we scored a goal and everyone on the pitch was thinking, ‘Let’s hold onto the advantage and try to win the game’.
For me that is the moment that we have to enjoy more and push the opponent. We tried to press the opponent super high and left a lot of space. We have to grow up a lot as a team. For me the most important thing is that during the week they were working really hard, today we worked really hard, and we are going to improve. The moment that changed the game was our goal,” he said.
Amorim further noted that MUFC players took their foot off the gas after securing the lead, and that was the team’s undoing.
He concluded by saying that not killing the game off swung the momentum in Fulham’s favour as soon as they scored their own goal.
“Training, in the game. You need to win to have the feeling to relax a little bit, not in the intensity and the way we play, but maintaining our mind. We suffer a little bit in the end because the momentum changed more with the goal of Fulham.”
