Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, has shared a very emotional update on his health. Recall that Bruce is currently battling frontotemporal dementia, a diagnosis he received in 2023.
Speaking during an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC, Emma spoke about her husband’s condition, revealing that it has been a heartbreaking and emotional rollercoaster.

According to her, even though the Hollywood legend can still move on his own, his brain keeps deteriorating on a daily basis.
“Bruce is still very mobile. Bruce is in really great health overall, you know. It’s just his brain that is failing him,” she said.
Emma Heming Willis disclosed that the actor’s ability to communicate has been fading, but his loved ones have adjusted to the new way of communicating.
“His language is going, and we’ve learned to adapt to communicate with him in a different way,” Emma said.
Asked if Bruce becomes his old self once in a while, Emma responded, “We still get those days. Not days, but we get moments. It’s his laugh, right? Like, he has such, like, a hearty laugh… sometimes you’ll see that twinkle in his eye, or that smirk, and I just get, like, transported.”
Fighting back tears, she noted that seeing him change in recent years has been a very bitter pill to swallow.
She concluded by saying that despite his present condition, she remains grateful to still have her husband in her life.
“It’s just hard to see, because as quickly as those moments appear, then it goes. It’s hard. But I’m grateful… I’m grateful that my husband is still very much here.
To leave there with nothing, just nothing, with a diagnosis I couldn’t pronounce… I was so panicked. I remember hearing it and not hearing anything else. I was free falling.
For someone who was very talkative and very engaged, he was just a little more quiet. When the family would get together, he would just melt a little bit… It felt a little removed, very cold, not like Bruce, who was very warm and affectionate. To go the complete opposite of that was alarming and scary,” she added.
