Ahead of the 2027 general elections, more than 200 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gubuchi Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The defectors were formally received into the party on Monday.
InfoStride News reports that since opposition leaders under a coalition adopted the ADC as their preferred platform for the next election, there has been a wave of defections from the ruling APC, as well as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP).

Former governors of Rivers and Kaduna States, Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El-Rufai, who are prominent members of the coalition, have been at the forefront of welcoming new members into the ADC.
The latest development comes just days after no fewer than 10,000 members of the PDP, APC and other political parties defected to the ADC in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State.
