Brazil forward Neymar has responded to claims that he is addicted to alcohol. He recently took legal action against a Brazilian journalist, and fans have been reacting.
The journalist, Rodolfo Gomes, had claimed that Neymar’s personal life is impacting his on-pitch displays, alleging that the footballer is hooked on whiskey.
Reacting, Neymar‘s representatives, NR Sports, labelled Gomes’ claims as “reckless, defamatory, slanderous and false,” stressing that he’ll be made to answer for his false accusations.
“All civil and criminal legal measures are being taken to hold those involved accountable,” a brief press statement read.
“ADDICTED to Red Bull. This one’s great,” Nyemar added on Instagram.

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior (born 5 February 1992), known as Neymar Júnior or mononymously as Neymar, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal and the Brazil national team. In his debut season, he excelled in French football, winning the league title and being voted Ligue 1 Player of the Year.
Despite recurring injuries in Paris, he helped PSG attain an historic domestic quadruple in the 2019–20 season, during which the club also reached its first ever Champions League final, with Neymar being named in the UEFA Team of the Year for the second time in his career.
