Cristiano Ronaldo will be a vital player for Portugal at the 2026 World Cup, former Arsenal and Brazil star Gilberto Silva has said. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, regardless of how long Ronaldo stays on the field, his mental toughness and unique leadership qualities is enough to take Portugal very far at the tournament.
He added that CR7’s presence is enough to inspire his teammates and push them to their limits.
His words, “He’s a machine. Cristiano has a mentality like no other player. He can turn things around and find a solution on the pitch. In recent years, he’s not as fast as he used to be, but he’s found a role playing as a number nine and continues to score goals like mad. I think his leadership is so important and vital for Portugal, regardless of how long he stays on the field. I’m sure having him in the squad would be great for every player because he can inspire them, push them to their limits, and make them believe they are capable of achieving things.”
