The Obidient Movement has debunked reports claiming it has endorsed Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State for re-election ahead of the November 8 governorship poll.
Describing the claim as fraudulent, unauthorized, and grossly misleading, the movement clarified that its support is firmly behind the Labour Party (LP) candidate, George Moghalu.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by its National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the movement reaffirmed its allegiance to the ideals of good governance and transparency as championed by former presidential candidate Peter Obi.

According to Tanko, “The Obidient Movement, a nationwide citizens’ platform dedicated to promoting good governance and the vision of His Excellency Peter Obi for a new Nigeria, categorically disowns reports claiming it has endorsed Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for a second term as Governor of Anambra State.”
He further stated, “The Movement has not authorized, endorsed, or supported any candidate other than Mr. George Moghalu, who was earlier endorsed by His Excellency Peter Obi for the upcoming Anambra gubernatorial election. Any statements suggesting otherwise are false and should be disregarded by the public.”
Tanko emphasized that the Obidient Movement remains independent and committed to promoting integrity, accountability, and people-centered leadership nationwide.
He added, “Our support for Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election was based on his proven track record and commitment to national transformation. Therefore, any individual or faction claiming to endorse other candidates does so in a personal capacity and not on behalf of the Obidient Movement.”
