A member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has said former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, risks expulsion from the party for failing to attend the recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
George made the remark on Thursday during an interview on Arise Television monitored by newsmen.
He stated that Lamido, a founding member of the PDP, ignored a key party procedure by absenting himself from the NEC meeting, which he described as the highest decision-making body after the national convention.

“Lamido knows the procedure. He’s one of the founding fathers of this party. He didn’t attend the last National Executive Committee meeting,” George said.
He explained that decisions taken at the NEC meeting must be strictly adhered to, adding that Lamido’s failure to attend the session raised concerns.
“At the end of the meeting, the date for the collection and returning of forms was stated. And he went to the party’s headquarters on the last day to return the forms,” he said.
George added that Lamido’s action undermines the party’s rules and efforts to ensure a smooth national convention.
“All zonal members attended the meeting except Lamido. Yet, on the day of the final submission of forms, he just appeared and demanded a form. He must respect the rules,” George stressed.
He noted that Lamido, despite being his friend and a respected party elder, must adhere to party procedures or face consequences.
