Popular Akwa Ibom entrepreneur Samuel Isong has said that he ensured Uyo was selected as part of the cities hosting Davido’s “5ive” album tour. He recently revealed that he was behind the city’s inclusion, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking to the press, Isong shared that he successfully convinced Davido‘s management team that Uyo was not just prepared but essential for the tour.

According to him, the inclusion of Uyo in Davido’s tour was a direct pathway to creating opportunities for the state’s youth, so his pitch to the singer’s team focused on Akwa Ibom’s modern infrastructure, security and the availability of world-class venues.
The founder of Rave Media and Ride With Me logistics stated that he emphasised how Uyo is an untapped market with a huge youth-driven fanbase that craved a world-class touring experience.
“Uyo was not a standard stop, and that was the challenge I loved. I presented Uyo not just as a location, but as an untapped market with a massive, youth-driven fanbase eager for a world-class experience.
My pitch emphasized the state’s modern infrastructure, security, and the availability of world-class venues, demonstrating that Akwa Ibom could successfully host an event of this magnitude,” he wrote.
He further noted that the Uyo concert’s success was very impactful, stressing that hotels recorded full occupancy, local vendors and food suppliers reported record sales, and the logistics sector experienced a major boost.
Isong concluded by saying that Davido’s tour was the perfect opportunity because it aligned with his mission to provide investment opportunities for creative and entrepreneurial Akwa Ibom youths.
“This is just the beginning. Uyo has proven it can host world-class events, and I’m committed to expanding opportunities for our youths and the creative sector,” he added.
