The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has decried the worsening security crisis in the country, saying Nigeria is steadily losing control of its internal security architecture.
PRP National Chairman, Falalu Bello, in a statement issued on Tuesday, lamented the surge in killings and mass abductions, warning that the nation’s security architecture was in collapse.
Bello said the lives of citizens being wasted daily were no less important than those of political leaders, their families and allies, many of whom, he noted, have relocated abroad for personal safety.

The opposition party challenged the Federal Government to stop what it called “denial of reality,” take responsibility, and act decisively, adding that the era of excuses was over.
PRP warned that the country “cannot continue to bleed while leaders trade blame and deploy public relations stunts.”
The party also demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of anyone, regardless of status, found to have aided, abetted or provided cover for terror attacks.
“We are profoundly alarmed and gravely concerned by the rapidly worsening security situation in Nigeria,” Bello said in the communiqué.
The statement highlighted coordinated terror incidents across multiple states, including Kebbi, Zamfara, Kwara, Kano, Bauchi, Yobe, Sokoto, Borno, Niger and others, describing the developments as “a systematic assault on national sovereignty.”
PRP further cited the abduction of over 315 students and teachers from St. Mary’s School in Papiri, Niger State, calling it “one of the most horrifying waves of abductions in recent history.”
It also referenced the abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi, the killing of a police officer and a vigilante in Patigi, Kwara State, and the killing of five additional police officers in Bauchi State.
The communiqué added that eight members of the Civilian Joint Task Force were killed, and three others abducted by terrorists in Gwoza, Borno State. It also noted the killing of a police officer during an attack in Geidam, Yobe State, as well as the murder of four rice farmers in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Bello insisted that anyone found to have supported or provided operational cover for terror attacks must face prosecution, without exception.
The statement concluded by urging INEC and constitutional institutions to uphold rule of law, insisting that national stability cannot be reclaimed without restoring accountability and ending political theatrics around insecurity.
