Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has come out to defend Lamine Yamal following a difficult Champions League performance against Chelsea. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, while it was clear that Yamal had a difficult game against Cucurella, he still believes the Spanish forward will lead Barcelona’s recovery from their 3-0 defeat.

Flick added that Yamal will end up stepping up and proving his quality in the coming weeks.
His words, “Lamine is fine and feels good. Many players aren’t happy when we substitute them. I was a player myself, and many times I didn’t react as I should have.
Cucurella is one of the best full-backs in the world; he’s a very good player. But, for me, now it’s Lamine’s turn to step up and show that we need to forget the Chelsea game. This is when he has to show how good he is.
When we lose and when we concede three goals, it’s easy to say it wasn’t a good match or that it wasn’t the Barca we’d like to see. Ultimately, some people don’t understand what we need to play with that high defensive line.
It’s our own style; it’s not just about the defenders. The forwards and midfielders also initiate the press. That’s what I need from the players. The blame seems to fall on the defense, but that’s not fair. If we don’t all press effectively, we’ll have problems, I want to make that clear.”
WOW.
Futbol Club Barcelona is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, that competes in La Liga, the top flight of Spanish football.
Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, Catalan, German, and English footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism, hence the motto “Més que un club” (“More than a club”). Unlike many other football clubs, the supporters own and operate Barcelona. It is the third-most valuable sports team in the world, worth $5.51 billion, and the world’s fourth richest football club in terms of revenue, with an annual turnover of €582.1 million.
The official Barcelona anthem is the “Cant del Barça”, written by Jaume Picas and Josep Maria Espinàs. Barcelona traditionally play in dark shades of blue and garnet stripes, hence nicknamed Blaugrana.
In March 2021, Lionel Messi overtook Xavi’s record of 767 games played for the club, and presently has made 778 official appearances in all competitions, while also holding the record for the most appearances in La Liga matches for Barcelona, with 520.
